  1. Hi all, With the sustained copy pasting of contents onto the website over the past few months, it is apparent that the colour contrast has been causing a lot of inconveniences to the community as a whole. It's been decided that the light theme will be discontinued at the end of October, and replaced by one dark/navy theme for all. Early access to the theme has been enabled for - All Staff - Patreon - Invitation (Lifetime, Plus, & Regular) - Patreon - Fat Duck Family If your role on the website has not been updated to reflect your membership in the above groups, please send a DM to @Moogle
  2. Start Date: 23 Aug 19 All bug reports have been moved to in-game bug reporting command. (/bugreport) Bug reports will then be forwarded onto Development tasks list (Trello) directly. All existing bug reports have also been imported onto Trello.
  3. Start Date: 11 Aug 19 Hi all, The old login handler was replaced today with a completely new one that would seemlessly import your Steam profile to the website. If you've already linked your existing steam accounts via the old login handler, your data should already be imported onto the new system. If not, or if you haven't yet linked your steam accounts, follow the following instructions: 1. Go under Account Settings 2. Click under Steam Integration, then just login to your Steam account 3. Once linked, head down to your profile 4. Hit Update 5. Voila! It should be linked now and should show in your forum posts.
  4. Start Date: 16 Feb 19 Expiry: 31 Oct 19 When posting on the forums, ensure any text you do not intend on colouring shall be left as "Automatic" This is to avoid Light Theme users seeing nothing when Dark Theme users colour their texts white, or vice versa. Example: Therefore it is recommended Dark Theme users shall avoid using the White text formatting and Light Theme users should avoid Black text formatting. Tl;dr Leave it as "Automatic" for normal, uncoloured text.
  5. Unsure if your ban is an appealable ban or permanent unappealable community-wide ban. But if you can post here, I assume it's the former. https://www.fatduckgaming.com/index.php?/appeals/
  6. In light of the recent influx of players, the workload of our Development and Management Teams have been ever increasing. In order to assist new players, we are recruiting for help! If you haven't already considered, you may submit a staff application under the Application Forms section of our website (Top navigation bar). That aside, I am now introducing the Community Contribution Scheme! What is that? It's a small project on the side that recruits experienced players to help develop and update our aging guides, as well as write new ones as new features are brought into the community. We are also looking at player inputs to discuss and debate on our aging rule book in order to make it more relevant. How does it work? At this early stage, I am looking at rewarding REPutation points (separate to the current reputation system on the website) for your contributions. These points may be used towards getting rewards in-game after reaching certain thresholds. What's in it for me? A list of benefits have been drafted up in my secret cardboard box lab, ranging from $ to $$ to $$$ to ????. (You can figure the ? out once you get there. I promise, it will be worth it.) How does the point system work then? It will be recorded to your account so that it will be displayed publicly in topics, posts and your web profile. Example in the author pane of this topic. .tg {border-collapse:collapse;border-spacing:0;} .tg td{font-family:Arial, sans-serif;font-size:14px;padding:0px 5px;border-style:solid;border-width:1px;overflow:hidden;word-break:normal;border-color:black;} .tg th{font-family:Arial, sans-serif;font-size:14px;font-weight:normal;padding:0px 5px;border-style:solid;border-width:1px;overflow:hidden;word-break:normal;border-color:black;} .tg .tg-up58{border-color:#333333;text-align:center;vertical-align:top} .tg .tg-2zv8{font-weight:bold;border-color:#333333;text-align:center} .tg .tg-56o5{border-color:#333333;text-align:center} REP Action 1 Update an existing tutorial (& Approved by Staff) 2 Create a new, value adding* tutorial (& Approved by Staff) 1-2** Topic starter for approved rule amendments/addition/removal 1 Major contributors to rule proposal discussions * Value adding being tutorials that will prove to be valuable to our new and existing players, such as for starter guides, job guides and any guides for new features that have just been released to the community by our Development Team. ** Depends on how much details/valid points the topic starter have put into their proposal Reward Thresholds? REP Thresholds are currently set at 10, 25, 50, and every 25 REPs thereafter.
  7. Would you like to file a bug report using our Application Forms above on the main header? Alternatively: https://www.fatduckgaming.com/index.php?/trackers/
  8. OBS is a software which allows you to record and stream whenever you like, in this tutorial we will go over how to recording using OBS, not how to stream. First of all if you don't have OBS you need to download it by clicking on the Open Broadcaster Software image. Once you've downloaded and installed OBS you're going to need to make a scene which isn't hard all you do is go where it says "scene" and right click then press "add". A scene will be there already for you but if you want more scene you can do this After that you have to make a source, this is where it allows you to capture a certain application and recording it. Or if you want to can make it record your entire screen instead of application. What you'll need to do is go on "Sources" then right click again and it'll give a lot of option for you. Now if you want to record a certain application or a game you're going to pick game capture and it'll open a tab for you and you're going to name it whatever you want. Once you finish making a name for it, it'll open another tab if you want to capture a certain a window you'll pick "capture specific window" once you pick that it'll open another section for you and you can pick which window you want to record (FiveM must be opened so you can select it). If you want it to record your entire screen you'll pick capture full screen application. After you've done this, you want to make a folder anywhere you want and can be named anything. This folder will be used so whenever you finish recording the recording will go to the file. But make sure you set it as an output. To set it as an output you want to do is go to settings --> Output ---> recording. Once you're on the recording tab you'll see recording path, click browser and then locate and select where you've put that folder for recording. For me its on my D: drive and named OBS Vids.(you do not need to do this if you know where all your recording goes) The format for the video will be FLV, if you do not have anything that runs FLV I'd suggest to change. In the output there will be a section call video format, you'll need to change that into mp4 or anything else that your pc supports. Your recording will come as 30 fps so to change this you'll want to go to settings --> video and you'll see common FPS. Make sure you do not change the common FPS Values and change the one next to it which is the FPS. You can pick 60 fps if want. If you resolution isn't what you like you can change it. Now you can start recording and have evidence whenever you do a player report. I hope this tutorial helped out, if you want feel free to contact me anytime if you need help with OBS.
